Pahang Attractions

This article is about Pahang travel tips .And what to expect while self drive there.

Pahang is the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia, ranges from mountainous state in the west to the coastline in the east. Terengganu and Kelantan bound the State on the north, by Perak in the west and by Selangor and Negeri Sembilan to the southwest. Johor forms the State's southern boundary.

My personal driving experience in this state found that most of the road are still terrain and hilly. Unless you are driving on the coastline say from Rompin toward Terengganu.

Beach in Pahang adjoins the South China Sea for a distance of 208 kilometers. So you have these places such as Cherating, Balok, Telok Chempedak and Beserah Kuantan.

Beside beaches, Pahang attractions include highlands such as Bukit Tinggi, Cameron Highland, Genting Highland and Fraser Hill.

Driving guide in the state of Pahang and the weather.

My personal driving experience in this state found that most of the road are still terrain and hilly. Nevertheless it is very well maintained.

The trunk road here is always bringing a very fond memory of me and the family in Jerantut (gateway to National Park). As a kid, I will be back to help my parent to tend durians orchard. Durian is the major fruits of Pahang. And even in my adult years I will drive back to my parent place and get familiar with the road.

~Although, Pahang have the highway but I still preferred the trunk road. It’s nice to see the traditional village and the serenity the road and the jungle.

Driving through the districts of Temerloh, Mentakab, Jerantut and Maran is so relaxing! And it is so well maintain which was sometimes better than any road in the housing estate in Kuala Lumpur!

~You can say most of the road in Pahang are terrain and hilly. Unless you are driving on the coastline say from Rompin toward Terengganu.

~Now the weather, most of the east coast of this state will receive monsoon rain just like Kelantan and Terengganu. So, you should be alert when driving in the month of October to January.

~Drive slowly and follow the speed limit accordingly while driving through the village trunk road.

You might encounter goats, chickens, ducks and buffalo lying on the road. You encounter some exotic animal too.
