Malaysia Climate

Does Malaysia climate really important to you? Unlike 4 season countries Malaysia does not have any significant changes in her weather.
Most of us the citizen, don't really bother on Malaysia weather outlook!
But if you’re driving, the weather plays a very important part in your journey. This is very important especially if you are planning to drive in Malaysia expressway as well as the trunk road.
However, the Malaysia government has in every year provided a huge budget to ensure the safety of road user. This is includes the upgrading of trunk and expressway.
The weather in Malaysia is pretty predictable. You either get sunshine or raining.
Malaysia has equatorial climate throughout the year. This is categorized by heavy humidity throughout the year with hot weather and plenty of rain.
The temperature generally ranges from 30°C to 34°C during the day and 25°C to 28°C during the night, with cooler temperatures during and after heavy rainfall.
There are 2 monsoon season which 2 part of Malaysia. The east coast states consist of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang east coast and Johor east coast.
And west coast states are Perlis, Penang, Kedah,Perak ,Selangor , Negeri Sembilan,Malacca and west coast of Johor.
The Metrological Department will use this 2 terms when referring to the states in Malaysia.
Monsoons in the east coast of Malaysia
Each year, 2 monsoons that hit Peninsular Malaysia .The eastern or known as East Coast (the states of Kelantan,Terengganu and Pahang coast and Johor east coast) side gets hit the hardest between October till January with much rainfall and thunderstorms.
This normally caused monsoon flood. And it’s pretty nasty, during thunderstorm I will strongly advice not to drive. Stay in the hotel.
The west coast of Malaysia
The Titiwangsa mountain range that cuts through the centre of the country provides the west coast a light shield from the eastern monsoon.
However Kuala Lumpur and other cities on the west coast still receive much rainfall and storms during this time.
The heavy rain occurs in the afternoon and sometime until midnight.
The storms when they do come are relatively short, and the rains actually bring a cooling atmosphere to the city.
I always love heavy rain in the city. And I will tell you what to do during this season. Sleep!
From March to April, there is another monsoon that comes from the west and hits places like Kuala Lumpur , Malacca and Penang directly, bringing the most rainfall to Kuala Lumpur.
The driest periods in western region are usually between May till July, where there is a respite from the monsoon season.
However, just like other Kelantanese, I enjoyed the flood. During this time, it’s like a “water festival” in the midst of the town. The folks will dress up and enjoy a nice stroll in the water around town!
The kids will build raft from bamboo. Well it’s like a festival! You should leave your card and joint the crowd!
