Lake Garden is located just about 1 km from city centre. You can either walk or drive to this place.
You should walk or drive toward Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) and pass by the Bank Negara (Central Bank) and go straight toward The Parliament House.
The Lake Garden is on your left side if you are driving from Kuala Lumpur centre.
I would recommend you to come as early as 0700 hrs (if you are planning to visit during weekend) if you are intending to jog here. As the parking space is quite limited as the facts that are lots of visitor to the park.

This place known to the local as Lake Garden for many years and it was the first public park developed in this city.

The area covers 70 hectares and was developed since 1888 by A.R.Venning.
Situated in the valley of the Bras-Bras River, it is a beautiful area of greenery and undulating land that was demarcated until 1947 as a residential area for senior British officers of the colonial era.
Part of the river was dammed to create Sydney Lake.
The park was officially opened by the late Tun Abd Razak the second Prime Minister on 1st May 1975. Yes!He is the father of current Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Razak.
The park is located 1 km from the city centre.

It is surrounded by interesting buildings such as Parliament House and The National Monument all within walking distance.
Over the year, the park has expanded to an area of 92 hectares.
Is Lake Garden suitable for recreation activity?
Yes! The city folks use this park as jogging, Tai Chi practice and boating activity. This park provide washroom and shower facilities. This is very convenience to the jogger.
My daughter enjoys the shuttle service ride the most. It is a coach which pulled by vehicle similar the type which used to pull the aircraft.
As for us, we love to stroll in the park and enjoy the view of twin building, The Le Meridien and Hilton Hotel. I found the place is so relaxing despite the fact that this park is located in the middle of the metropolitan Kuala Lumpur.
I rather enjoyed the morning long walk around the quiet lake. It is really surprising how cool and refreshing the air in the morning.Given the fact that the city is just a walking distance away.
The Kuala Lumpur folks have long used this place for their daily exercise and outdoor recreational activities.
There is a children's playground, jogging tracks, exercise stations, and rowing boats.
Don't be surprise to bump into groups of elderly and young folks practicing Tai Chee along the way.
You may need 2- 3 days to really visit this place. This is because apart from the Lake Garden, there are Butterfly Park, Bird Park, Mouse deer Park, and Orchid & Hibiscus Garden.
Besides these theme parks, you may want to visit Tun Razak Memorial Centre, Police Museum, Islamic Museum and National Mosque which are all located in this area.
